- A publisher of a widely used textbook in schools of nursing and medicine across the US and internationally agreed to address all 17 instances of bias submitted from students, staff and faculty in the 2023-2024 academic year in future editions of the textbook. This publisher also requested ongoing feedback from our project regarding additional instances of bias submitted.

- A major global contraception company has historically provided students with practice models featuring a lighter skin tone only. Following our feedback, each practice model provided to students at UW SON now has both lighter and darker skin tone materials.
- We contact select publishers 1-2 times annually with submitted instances of bias, requesting revisions to their educational resources
- We provide submitted instances of bias to faculty to support the iterative alignment of curriculum with anti-racist and DEI principles.
- We are working on formalizing a process to connect faculty to one-on-one AR & DEI curriculum development support
- We submitted a manuscript to a top peer-reviewed nursing journal, which is currently under review
- Dr. Joycelyn Thomas is leading the QI project — more updates soon!
